When you get older it is hard to stay motivated to do a lot of physical activity but having a great partner like Ashlee and knowing that I will have her there to get me through any workout is the greatest thing ever! Plus she keeps me on track - sometimes I have a tendency to make up my own workout such as not counting correctly in the pyramid and continuing to do 10 reps when I only should be doing 5 (I wondered why everyone else was done and I am still going) – I know that it is up to me to be in the best shape that I can be so I can continue to enjoy doing things with her and the rest of my family.
One thing I really figured out in the past year or so is what I needed to do as a person to keep on track with my eating and exercise. Matt introduced us to Advocare and Ashlee and I did the 24 day challenge and it was the best thing that I have ever done besides joining the gym! I thought I was pretty healthy and at a good weight, but after doing the challenge I realized that a lot of the foods/drinks that I was consuming were not healthy. I am amazed as to what you can accomplish by just cutting out the unnecessary foods and eating more fruits/veggies. It has completely changed my habits and I no longer crave things such as pop, chips and have exchanged them for hummus/carrots and Spark!
To sum it all up I am blessed to have a daughter that wants to be with her Mom and doesn’t get embarrassed by the crazy things that Moms sometimes do without even knowing it! I am also so lucky to have such great trainers, Matt and Julie – you are both the best-you make us feel like we can do anything!
