Times have certainly changed. I can now do perfect pushups from my toes and a 50 lb kettlebell really isn't that heavy at all anymore. Last year I completed seven separate 5k's and I also ran the Living History Farms Race. Running is something I don't enjoy at all, but I was pleasantly surprised that I could complete those races and not actually do too bad. I love going to the gym, it is my stress relief. With four children at home, I definitely need it!! I might not be the fastest or the strongest, but I give 100% every time I walk through those doors. I can't remember when I first met Sherri, but I know we have been going around the same time. I have always been impressed with what she can do and how dedicated and hardworking she is. Sherri rarely misses a class, and smiles and laughs through the whole workout. She will call me and make sure that I am going to class and if I miss, she is right there to make sure I make the next one. The last few months Sherri and I have gotten closer and are real "partners in crimes now". We don't go too many days without making sure that we will be working out together.
Sherri is, simply put, AMAZING. There are a lot of days when the workout is tough, and I am ready to quit or take a break, and I look over at Sherri and she is pushing right along and I take a deep breath and keep going. Sherri is a true symbol of dedication and proves that you are never too old to get better and stronger. I only hope that I can be as active and strong as she is when I am her age. For those of you who are thinking of joining Brick House but are maybe a little bit intimidated, don't be. Matt and Julie are fantastic trainers who really support us and encourage us to get just a little bit better every day. The atmosphere at Brick House is wonderful, and there is no judging, just members working hard towards there own fitness goals. I still have a long road ahead of me to get where I want to be, but I know with the support of Matt, Julie, Sherri and all the Brick House members, I will get to where I want to be! As the saying goes "It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger".
